SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi was set up in the year 1958 so as to revive Ayurveda as modern science. SDM Ayurvedic Medical College represents the best of traditional knowledge & contemporary excellence. It is managed by the SDME Society, Ujire.
The inspiration behind the institution’s success is Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala & the President of SDM Educational Society who is committed towards service human welfare and social development via Education.

Ever since its inception, SDM Ayurvedic Medical College has rendered impeccable service to the public by means of offering healthcare and qualitative value-based Ayurvedic education to its students.

The institution offers Ayurvedic education at both graduate and post-graduate levels that are regulated by the statutory apex body, Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). The college is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.

Eligibility criteria:BDS
BAMS
To join BAMS at SDP Ayurvedic Medical College, a candidate should have passed PUC or 10 +2 years basic education with PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with a minimum of 50% marks. (40% for SC/ST & OBC candidates of Karnataka State)
Foreign students can get admission if the university recognizes the basic qualification of the corresponding country and on successful passing in the exams conducted by the university.

Eligibility for Post Graduation Courses
The candidate should have obtained a BAMS degree from a CCIM recognized university.
(Note: Non-Karnataka applicants who seek admission for BAMS and MD/MS (Ayurveda) must get the ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE that is issued by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.)
